Science
Within Concordia University's online Science program, practicing K-12 and community college teachers can enhance their knowledge of science content to bring to the classroom and increase student learning and understanding of fundamental concepts. Program strategies and practices are aligned with National Science Education Standards and those set forth by the National Science Teachers Association.
This program addresses inquiry methods for teaching science and the integration of technology – including virtual laboratories – into science learning in the classroom. Students complete courses that include:
- The Nature of Science
- Planning for an Inquiry-Based Classroom
- Transformative Science in the Differentiated Classroom
- The Technology-Based Science Classroom
All coursework is completed in a year and entirely online. It is Concordia University's goal to provide quality, intensive education in a flexible format – students can study from the comfort of their own homes and submit assignments when it's convenient, as long as course deadlines are met.
