Online Program Overview
Concordia University offers interesting, challenging, and career-focused courses in its Master of Education programs. Concordia University's online classes are designed so students may turn in assignments based on the required due dates but completed according to your daily schedule. Online classes are five weeks in length, and can be accessed via the Internet at the time and location that is most convenient for you.
Program Objectives
Upon program completion, M.Ed. candidates will demonstrate:
- An understanding of leadership contributions made by all teachers related to their roles in the classroom, the school, the district, the community and their profession
- Skills in developing, implementing and assessing curricular and instructional plans that integrate disciplines, apply current educational research findings, encourage parental involvement, consider students' current developmental levels, and exhibit sensitivity to individual student differences and cultural backgrounds
- Skills in the application and integration of new technologies to enhance the teaching and learning processes
- Skills in the design, implementation, and presentation of an action research project or thesis developed expressly to improve classroom instruction and student learning outcomes
- Knowledge of and appreciation for the Christian perspective and its emphasis on service as a fundamental element of successful teaching, learning and administering
- Values, ethics, beliefs, and attitudes that achieve the educational goals of a state, district, and local school communities.
- A desire to continue professional and leadership development

Admission Requirements
- For U.S. Citizens or Residents, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 2.8 or higher is required. Along with the application a professional resume, 2 letters of recommendation, and transcripts from all former institutions are required.
- For non-U.S. Citizens, you will need to have a Bachelor's or Master's degree that is recognized by the Ministry of Education (your transcripts will also be evaluated by World Education Services). You will also need a successful score of 80 or better on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a successful score of 550 or better on the Test of Written English (TWE).
